HOME DECOR DIY / BLOGMAS ❅ DAY 12

When I was in school, even before high school, we used to have a class for which I just can't find an English word for, but we used to do many things like knitting, sewing, cooking, decorating, mainly all of the things girls are expected to know how to do. I have to admit, back then I used to hate this class with all my heart and I was pretty bad at all these things. Even though, I still have a scarf and mittens I knitted and I know how to sew a little bit, this is definitely not my strongest thing. Although, I started loving baking as I was growing up, so maybe now I would enjoy that class a little bit more.
Nowadays I love DIY things more and more and I'm getting much better at them also, so I decided to have two little projects for my home decorations for this Christmas and I really like how they turned out!
The first one was simply spraying the pine cones with a little bit of silver glitter (which are not really that visible in the pictures) and then I created a little something out of them and the Christmas baubles. I love how that looks!

The second project was a trial to sew a pillow case out of the old shirt. I bough a very large man shirt from the thrift shop and used them to make a pillow case. Also, the label of the shirt said that it's Yves Saint Lauren and even if I don't know whether that is true, I will think that it is.
So, all I did was taking my pillow and putting it in the shirt to measure the size. Then I cut all of the excess off and simply sewed the sides with the pillow inside. Like I said, sewing is not my forté but I think it turned out pretty fine. My teacher would be happy about it, I think.
When I finished, I took these snowflakes my Grandmother made a while ago and sewed them on the top of the pillow. And that's it!
