Heelloo February! Even though January was not a bad month to me, I am really glad it is over. I was never a fan of Januaries, a month with the Blue Monday of the year can hardly be a favorite month, I guess. And you know, Februaries are not only one step closer to the Spring, they also have one beautiful day in it - Valentine's day. For all the single people out there (*I'm raising my hand here*) this day might not sound that appealing, but you know, it doesn't have to be a day which you spend crying about your single life. Single doesn't mean sad (at least it shouldn't) and Valentine's day can be just any other day of the year, but it can also be dedicated to loving yourself and making yourself happy. If you don't want to spend this day crying and moping around, I've got you covered.
For those coupled ones out there this can be another good day to show your special one just how much they mean to you. This day has become all about buying gifts, chocolates, flowers and everything pink and heart shaped, but it doesn't have to be about this, this is a day dedicated to love and it actually is a nice idea. It's just a nice reminder in a year to show a little bit more attention than you usually do.
I think the entire month of February should be dedicated to spreading love around you, to making your loved ones happy and making yourself happy. It's just like one more December when you;re trying to make people around you happier. I am definitely going to try to make this month all about love and I'm going to make this month on the blog all about love.
It's your choice, you can hate this all mushiness and pink hearts floating all around the city or you can try to spread love just a little bit more this month and love yourself and those around you a little bit harder.
What a nice way of thinking about it; I'm gonna spend my month dedicating it to loving more too!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about Valentine's day. Although my boyfriend and I did do the cheesy stuff last year (flowers, chocs etc) we also genuinely just had a really nice dedicated to each other. I've also had countless lovely Valentine's days with my friends or by myself.
Happy February!

This is such a sweet post - I love the idea of spreading a little love throughout February. I'm in a relationship but to be honest I've still never really been a big fan of Valentine's Day - I think you can - and show - show your loved ones some extra love whenever the notion takes you, and not just when Hallmark says so, but in recent years I've started to warm to Valentine's Day a little more. The start of the year can be a dark and rainy time - the flashes of pink and red which Valentine's Day brings should really be seen as a positive pick-me-up while we're all waiting for spring!

I'm happily married but I don't like going out on valentines day and I'm not even sure why... I think everyone should enjoy the holiday though and give their parents or siblings (and friends) some valentines cards! I think that would be nice :)

What a lovely post <3 :) I'm in a relationship, but he's away for Valentine's day since he's in the navy, but I'm going to make the most out of this month anyway! I'm just always in a happy mood when February comes around since all the stores start filling up with lots of pink stuffed animals, cards, and chocolate. The chocolate is my favorite. hahaha.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this month should be about spreading love :)
awww this is such a sweet post ^^
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice that you've had a nice day all dedicated to each other, that is the most important part of this day, isn't it? Chocolate and flowers can only help and they are really nice too!
ReplyDeleteHappy February to you too! x
I completely agree with everything you've said! You can and should show your loved ones love as much as you can and this shouldn't be only on Valentine's day, but it's just nice to have the day in a year all dedicated to love I think :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! x
I'm glad to hear this! Especially since your boyfriend is away on Valentine's day could be difficult, but it's very nice to see that you're still being positive, this is very important. I hope you're going to have a great month! x
ReplyDeleteOh, than you so much! x
ReplyDeleteI think you should spend Valentine's day just the way you want to and if you're not feeling like going out, you shouldn't go, the most important thing, I think, is to spend the day with someone you love :) Oh and yes, sending some cards is a very nice idea as well! x
