SPRING PLAYLIST | THE SOUND OF SPRING

MUSIC I'VE BEEN LOVING IN SPRING
To me, all the seasons have their particular sound just like they have their smell and their sunsets. And since Spring is my favorite season of them all, the songs I love in the Springtime stick with me for years and even know when I hear the song from the Spring years ago, I remember that time really really well. A couple of days ago one day from the 2012 randomly started to play and it brought me so many memories. Back then, I was about to graduate the high school and this song reminds me of that Spring so well with all the people, emotions, and my old high school image.
I love how songs always come to you at the time you need them the most and when the lyrics are so relatable and sometimes it seems like you've written them yourself. I just don't know how songs do this, how one short song can bring back so many memories to you, but it's amazing, I guess this is all that matters, isn't it?
Lovely Beth one day posted her January playlist with the best lyrics in the songs and I'm shamefully going to be a complete copy cat and share the songs I've been loving lately.

[How many secrets can you keep?
'Cause there's this tune I found that makes me think of you somehow and I play it on repeat
 Until I fall asleep]

[Sometimes the silence guides our minds

So move to a place so far away]

[I go to loud places to search for someone

To be quiet with who will take me home]

What have been the songs you've been playing on repeat this Spring?

FEBRUARY FAVORITES

Thinking about my February favorites makes me very excited because it means Winter is over and Spring has finally arrived. Hooray for that!
Luckily, this Winter was not particularly harsh but thinking about my favorite season of them all finally being back, makes me smile a lot. It will probably take quite some time for weather to really warm up, but the possibility of it is good for now.
February seemed to be quite a long and short month at the same time if that's even possible. It was pretty tough for me mentally and also physically as well because I had a ton of studying to do which is pretty weird for the beginning of a new semester. It also felt like I was losing the faith in myself a little bit this month, so the month of love turned out to be a little bit of a different story for me. I also managed to catch a cold just in time before Winter was over, so had to spend some days all tucked up in the bed, so now I am even more ready for the warm weather to come back!

BEAUTY

I've received this beautiful little Soap and Glory The Righteous Body Butter as a part of a giveaway prize. It's the first product of this brand I've ever tried, because we don't get to buy Soap and Glory in Lithuania, so the closest I've come to this brand was standing by their isle in Boots when I was in the UK. I love this stuff! It has such a strange scent, but I do really like it. I'm the worst with body butters, I completely forget to use them, but this one is so nice, that I just have to remember to put it on my body and make it smell super nice.

MUSIC FAVORITES

This month I was particularly in the British guys! Ed Sheeran has been one of my favorite artists ever, but after seeing him live this month and watching about a hundred of interviews (I'm such a fan girl..), he became one of my favorite famous persons as well. His album was playing all the time on my laptop, on my phone and in my head.
A new British guy I've started to love this month is Sam Smith. I knew the most popular songs and I loved them but never got around to listening the whole record and it was the biggest mistake, because this record is insane! No wonder Sam Smith got 4 Grammy awards this year, he deserves every single one of them!
I was also loving the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack a lot. The movie was not very good, as you've probably already heard, but the soundtrack is the one thing that is very good about it. At least someone did the job right while creating this movie. This whole soundtrack is so sexy, seductive and just powerful, I love it a lot!

TV & MOVIE FAVORITES

I went to see The Theory of Everything this month and I went to see it by myself and had no one to discuss it with afterwards and it was very sad, because I didn't have the chance to yell how good it was! I had to hold it in, but you know IT'S VERY GOOD! I'm very happy Eddie Redmayne got an Oscar for his performance. It's a such a beautiful story about the strength of a man, it's so inspiring to watch how he and everyone around him overcome this struggle they have and acting is pretty impressive as well.

As for TV, I've been loving Pretty Little Liars, so nothing's new in the world. Except I found out that A is going to be revealed by the end of this season, so now I have to re-watch all of the 5 seasons until the end of March to be sure about my theory who A is. I know who original A was, so from the 3rd season I'm going to have to be very attentive.
One new favorite this month is How to get away with murder. I didn't expect to like a show like this in a million years, but it's so good! It has crime, drama, love and very strong characters, so it's very addicting. Give it a go, if you haven't already!

RANDOM FAVORITES

I've been loving my beautiful, soft and pink dressing gown with big hearts on it. I could live on this thing and let's pretend I don't actually do live in it.
I've also tried to read Pretty Little Liars books and I have to say that show is much much better. I felt like I was a little bit too grown up for the books, so I'm going to stick with the show for now, I think. It was interesting to get to know this story how it was originally created, though.
This notebook I brought from Manchester is an amazing thing and I love it to pieces. I've been searching for a beautiful yearly calendar for ages and when I finally saw it in the store, I was jumping like a little child.

FAVORITE MOMENTS

One of the favorite moments this month was definitely seeing Ed Sheeran live and I'm not going to talk about it anymore, because all I did this month was to talk about him on the blog and in the real world. One thing that also stands out was waking up at my friend's house after Valentine's day and just spending a very long morning in bed drinking coffee and reading books. It was such a simple thing to do, but it was so lovely that it stands out a lot to me.

CHRISTMAS SOUNDTRACK / BLOGMAS ❅ DAY 3

Okay, so I have to admit that when I signed up for this little challenge, some fails were bound to happen but despite that, let's move forward and today I'm sharing my favorite holiday songs to help you (and me as well) into mood a little bit more. I've been so busy, that I didn't even had time to decorate my home and since I love Christmas so much, I try to do this as early as it's possible. I will definitely going to squeeze some time and I will be playing these songs while I'll be making my home ready for the holidays.
A little disclaimer - I have a pretty bad taste for Christmas music, I love all of the songs which are constantly played everywhere but I just can't help it. Please share your favorite Christmas songs, I definitely need to hear some new ones!

MONTHLY FAVORITES - JULY

When you have a job, you can clearly see how quickly the time is going and since I've been working since my last exam last June, I see that days are going by very quickly and the thought that it's already August scares me quite a lot. With August coming, there is always that thought about the school year coming back and about winter approaching. However, I am still trying really hard to think positively that there is still almost the whole month of Summer left and that is the most important thing!

This month two movies really stuck out for me. The first one is The Fault In Our Stars, I finished the book in June and then I finally went to see it and you can read my thoughts about it here. All I can say is that I liked it a lot and it made me cry like I've probably never cried over a movie before.
The second one is A long way down . The first reason, why I liked this movie, I liked this movie is that I went to see it under the stars in the middle of my city at night and it was a great experience first of all. Second of all, this movie is really good. It is mainly about suicide and people struggling in life but it's not a sad or depressing movie at all, it's more like a comedy but with an important message in it. I really recommend this one!

It seems like this Summer I've only been listening to guys and I've completely forgotten to support the women power.  First of all it was (and still is) Kings of Leon, this month it was Bastille, John Newman (I saw them live but that's a story for August favorites) and Ed Sheeran. At least there is one girl in one of my favorite songs from this month!

That is a very random favorite. I finally got me a Spotify account and I couldn't be happier about it. It's such a cool thing, it literally has all the music you need in one place and you can crate your playlists or follow playlists that others created this is so cool!

Sex and the City. I've started watching the last season and I should have been finished with it months ago but I'm just too sad to carry on when I know this is the last season so I'm cherishing each episode as this is one of my favorite TV shows of all time.

I became a curator for the freshmans in my University. And that is definitely the best thing that has happened to me in a very long time. I took me lots of courage to do so and it still does require me pushing myself forward every day but I am really enjoying the experience. I love learning new things and meeting new people and actually being the help for some people.
Oh, and also this month I went to my first summer festival this Summer (by the time I managed to write this post, I actually went to two already) and there isn't really that much to tell about it, you can read a little bit what I think about these festivals in one post here but honestly I could talk for hours about them so this one post probably won't to the justice but it's better than nothing :)

8 REASONS WHY I LOVE SUMMER FESTIVALS

I have expressed my love for summer music festivals many many times. They is the reason why I wait for Summer, why I love summer. I went to my first festival a long time ago, when I was 16 years old and since then I can't (and don't want to) imagine my summer without them. The only word I could find to describe them is an experience. Every festival is different, every one surprises you and you never know what each one will be like. I've already been to 13 of them and I am not planning to stop anytime soon. I only have hopes to someday expand my horizon and go to other countries where festivals are even bigger. These festivals are a completely different world, a whole new universe and I can‘t remember my summers without them and it's really impossible to describe what it feels like.
Of course, they aren't everyone's cup of tea and to some people camping for the whole weekend doesn't seem like a very enjoyable thing to do but to me that's exactly what I love. Mornings aren't usually that nice at the festivals, you have to wait in a line to get into a shower or buy food, the weather could easily make the festival a bit horrible but there are way more reasons to love these festivals!

1.   Spirit like nowhere else. I sadly didn't grow up with hippie parents and I am really jealous of those who did, so I have no clue what the real hippy life was, except for what movies and Internet have taught me. I admire hippies in many ways and one of the most important things is the carefree spirit. So when I‘m at summer festivals, one of the most important things is the atmosphere which is never like it is there. Those three days at the festival unite everyone so much and everyone is so calm and chill and friendly. I love it.

      2. Everyone [almost] is your friend in the festival. It‘s very important to choose the right company to go to an event like this, but there is no doubt you‘ll find new people to chat there. It depends on the festival, there are the ones where you could just come up to people in a very early morning and just join them for a song and there are the ones where people aren't as inviting. But people are way friendlier there at these festivals than they are in an everyday life, there is no doubt and that's is very nice.

3.    Music. The main thing probably should be music, they are the music festivals, after all, although there are times when music really isn‘t the main point. But I have to admit, music never sounds better live than in the open air. Yes, the quality may not be the best there in the nature but you get the experience which you just wouldn't get anywhere else. And there is that surreal feeling when you are standing under the stars surrounded by the woods and you hear a great band singing live.

   4. Time starts to go really differently once you‘re there. Time slows down there, which is very cool. Three days seems to last for a lot longer but once it's over it seems like it all just went by in a second.

5.     Festival fashion. It just doesn‘t get better than this. I always look at these girls who look so great so effortlessly and I just can‘t pull these looks off so well but I‘m still trying hard. There isn‘t a thing you couldn‘t wear there, there are people walking around in onesies or in Borat's costumes and you can wear the biggest bow in your hair, the biggest hat or the most colorful outfit and it will be great.

   6.  Sleeping in a tent. I am one of these people who actually enjoys sleeping in a tent. I‘ve done it countless times so I‘ve found ways to sleeping comfortably in a tent and it doesn‘t really cause me problems. I do enjoy it in a way, it is also an experience. I do not enjoy sleeping in a tent only when it‘s pouring outside or it's boiling hot, then it‘s a no-no. Other times – love it!

 7.       Sleepless nights. You are only allowed to go to sleep early on the first night. The second one must be as long as it‘s possible, it‘s great if you go to sleep when the sun is rising. And that‘s is such a nice feeling. It somehow feels amazing to go to sleep when the sun is already up and some people start waking up but you know that you‘ve used every minute of the night and didn‘t waste precious time in festival sleeping. You can sleep at home and sometimes sleep just gets the best of you, but it's important to try staying awake for as long as you can.

 8. The feeling of being in a crowd. I am not usually the biggest fan of huge crowds but once I‘m in a festival, the feeling of everyone around you clapping or screaming lyrics to their favorite song along with the band on the stage is absolutely wonderful and it‘s incomparable with anything else in the world, really.

THE DAY WHEN A DREAM CAME TRUE

Yesterday was one of those marvelous days when you see your dreams coming true. It's an amazing feeling, isn't it? It's really nearly impossible to imagine something better than this, than the moment when you get to experience something you've dreamed for so long of. I love feeling so content that you walk with the biggest grin on your face, you come back home and just can't fall asleep because you are this happy. Yesterday I've got to live an amazing experience seeing my favorite band live and I can't tell you, it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

The first time I've heard Kings Of Leon I was, I think, 14 or 15 years old. I remember liking that song (which probably was Use Somebody or Sex on Fire) so much, that I just had to know more about them. I've just fallen in love with them more and more with each song I've listened to and this is probably the one band which stuck with me through the years when my music taste was changing very often.
I love many bands or singers, but the fact that KOL stayed with me for years, is even more special. In fact, some of my fondest memories happened while their songs were playing and their songs always give the warmest feelings. The thing is since I'm living in Lithuania and someone really big coming to play to our country or at least one near us, is a big deal as it doesn't happen too often.
So every time I thought to myself that I would absolutely love to hear this magical sound live and being able to hear his sexy voice, the thought of this staying just a dream followed immediately. I can't really explain why because I actually saw Lana Del Rey and Depeche Mode which I love dearly but with KOL this always seemed impossible. This is why last night was even more special, so many more times special. It was impossible to contain our excitement when we saw them come up on that huge stage and when we heard the first sounds of the guitars and then his voice echoed through the stadium, aaaah, I just got chills even writing this. It's just a strange feeling when you are feeling so many emotions that you can barely do a thing. I was so happy, I nearly cried several times but it was too many feelings at once to me that I just kept smiling the biggest smile I can do and my throat was just one big knot the whole time. I still can't fully comprehend that these songs which are now playing in my room (of course) were the ones I've heard live yesterday and I sang my heart out to them. When they played Closer or Pyro, it really felt like the most beautiful dream from which I would never want to wake up. At that time, I loved my life so so much.
We drove to another country, we came back on a very early morning when the sun was already up, I've slept for less than 5 hours and then I went to work feeling slightly lightheaded and yet I still felt very content.
My dream came true. My biggest dream of seeing my favorite band in the whole word live has come true and man, that's an incredibly warm feeling inside knowing this that these memories will stay with me forever.

All she ever dreamed of all she ever thought was never ending love

That's the best music to my ears on gloomy Saturdays like this one :)
