3 EASY VALENTINE'S DAY TREATS

food treat for valentine's day

Valentine's day is just around the corner and whether you like to celebrate it or not, it's nice to treat yourself on this pink day and make something fun and tasty to eat, because we all do love food, don't we? And it's even better when it's pretty to look at (especially for those who love Instagram!).
These three recipes are really easy and I'm pretty sure you would enjoy sharing them with someone you love or just with yourself because this is also very very nice!

pink waffles with berries

valentine's day pancakes with cream

Pink pancakes / waffles with whipped cream and berries

I loved making and eating these! You can literally use every possible combination for the pancakes mix, the only thing I've added was red food coloring, this made my pancakes or waffles or whatever you want to call them pink. I'm pretty sure that if you make them in a frying pan, they would look even pinker because my waffles became a little bit brown instead of fully pink.
Of course, after making them I just had to add whipped cream, raspberries (you can use any berries you like) and little hearts on them. It takes a little bit of time to prepare all this but it's so much more special to eat the breakfast like this and you deserve to feel special!

Pink smoothie

I've blended spinach, frozen raspberries, frozen blueberries, orange and a little bit of water and it turned out really good. It's definitely not the sweetest smoothie you can make but it's really good and refreshing. I really really liked it. Also, if you have the chance to get fresh berries, I'm sure it would taste even better!

easy red velvet cake

Red velvet cake

This is definitely one of my favorite desserts ever. This one is a little bit harder to make but oh boy, it tastes heavenly, so if you have a bit of free time on your hands and if you love to bake, try this recipe, it's amazing! I've done a full post about this beauty last Spring and now as I'm looking at this picture I just imagine how amazing it would be to have a piece of this cake with a cup of coffee... I think I'm going to make this one really soon!

EASY CHRISTMAS BAKING IDEAS / BLOGMAS ❅ DAY 14

Every December I have one absolute must thing on my bucket list which is to bake cookies with ginger. I only make them at Christmas time, so this became some sort of tradition for me. I believe this is a Swedish dessert, so in our home we weren't used to bake them before, but couple of years ago I found the recipe and decided to try to bake them and as they turned out very tasty, this has become a treat in every December. Whenever I bake them, our home starts to smell like Christmas, which is also amazing, of course, and the taste is heavenly. They are so crunchy and a little spicy, perfect with a cup of tea in the evening while it's dark outside!
I used this recipe to make these little amazing cookies.

Another baking experiment I tried this December was baking these cute cupcakes in the shapes of Christmas trees and ginger bread men. I've only recently bough this silicone baking mold and I was very happy when I found it in the shop the other day, it's perfect for Christmas! I used the recipe I use for red velvet cake (except the filling part) and they turned out really tasty. I bet they also would look amazing with the some kind of frosting on top!

EASY HOT CHOCOLATE WITH ORANGES / BLOGMAS ❅ DAY 13

A perfect Saturday treat is a hot chocolate! This morning I tried a little different recipe and it tasted really good! This recipe isn't really that different, I've only added a little bit of grated orange skin and some spices like cinnamon or clove.
All you need to do is take a glass of milk, pour it in the pot and wait until the milk starts to boil. Then add grated orange, spices of your choice and chocolate. Stir it until it's smooth, wait couple of minutes and pour it in your beautiful mugs. It's best to take the spices out before you drink your chocolate.
I really like that you can make this chocolate as spice as you want and it's really quick and easy to make!

3 EASY SUMMER RECIPES

There are 3 very easy recipes perfect for those hot Summer days.  The best thing about them is that they are oh so easy to make, you don't need any skills at all and that's amazing. You should really try all of them!
When I first heard about the frozen grapes and was really skeptical, I really didn't think freezing them would make any difference. But oh boy it did! I don't know what kind of magic happens once you put these grapes in the freezer but they taste amazing. They become like perfect popsicles, they taste just like candy but are way better for you.

That is a very tasty smoothie which I made when I didn't even have blender at home but it still tasted great and if you have blender, it's even better. It's a very refreshing smoothie!

This is the recipe I found recently and I really like it. It's not difficult to make and it's very refreshing on a hot summer day (the weather now finally reminds of the real summer, sometimes it's even too hot!). It takes the longest waiting for this goodie to freeze, the rest is very easy.

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #15

♥ Have I ever mentioned that I absolutely adore berries of all kinds? If I didn't, I LOVE them and even though raspberries are my favorites, this time of year when strawberries are around, is absolutely perfect, I spend way too much money on them but I just can't stop.

I've already put this picture on Instagram  but I would like to mention it once again. I have finally bought this book and even though I haven't read that much, so far it's absolutely amazing!
I can't imagine a bouquet more beautiful than the one with peonies, I LOVE these flowers so much.

This was definitely the highlight of this week when my and my bestie met for a very lovely afternoon at my home. We had lots of great food, some Italian wine and the best mood. Little hint - we like to sing karaoke a lot and we aren't the most gifted singers, but this never stop us from singing whenever we can!

HERE'S HOW WE CELEBRATED FATHER'S DAY

When you think of Summer, you imagine the Sun shining up in the sky, birds chirping around, warm breeze and warmth.. (Palm trees added to the picture would be absolutely idyllic). Well, Lithuanian Summer isn't always like this. On Sunday we woke up to a very rainy weather and the first days of the Summer weren't sunny at all. To be honest, I didn't really mind this as I had to stay home anyway to study for my exams but I'm hoping this is only the rainy beginning because Summer that looks exactly like Autumn isn't the best thing. This past week was pretty hectic, in these past 8 days I've had to take 4 exams, so only now I can finally relax for a while. Ed Sheeran is the singer of the night in my room tonight and I can finally do some blogging.

•••••

Despite this unhappy weather, last Sunday we had a Father's day celebration in our country and this was also an international children's day so this was quite a celebration and even though I'm not exactly a kid anymore, we still celebrated this day with my family. Me and my parents went to a really nice Italian restaurant called Basilico and had an absolutely amazing meal.
While being there we all have decided that we wouldn't really mind to eat Italian food every day. In fact, I would love this, Italian food and me get along really well. Me and my Mom got a big pizza to share which was d e l i c i o u s and my Dad got pasta which was great as well.  It was a nice way to remember our Italian trip with real Italian food which was actually really good, we had a glass of wine and enjoyed couple of hours together sitting cozy in a restaurant while it was pouring outside.

A VERY LOVELY MOTHER'S DAY

We celebrated Mother's day here in Lithuania last Sunday and thankfully it was a very nice and sunny day. Every year I buy my Mom some pretty flowers and bake a cake but this year I wanted to do something different for her, something I knew she'd enjoy. After I brought her some colorful flowers on the early morning, I took her for Sunday breakfast (or more like brunch, it was a midday already) at a very lovely place. I love going to this place, it's located on a very nice street in the city center, food is amazing, coffee mugs are huge and it has a French atmosphere all about it which is, of course, very nice. The name says it all - Café Montmartre. And they have waffles, you just can't ask for anything more.
My Mom enjoyed it just as much as I hoped she would, we ate some great desserts (My Mom had chocolate pancakes and I, of course, had waffles) and we had a very nice Mother daughter time. I always like to give presents which are more like experiences rather than actual things, I think it's much more nice to have memories to keep for yourself forever. It was a great start to the day and I loved seeing my Mom enjoying this little brunch as much as I've expected her to.

A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN

If you ever find yourself craving for a perfect cake - there it is! For a long time I've been reading about bloggers eating this kind of cake and I've always wondered what's so great about this cake because I've never tried it as it's not really popular in Lithuania and I really doubt if there's a place here where I could it to try. So I just had to do it myself and it turns out it's actually incredibly good!
I love how it looks, this red color makes it look so fancy, it's not that difficult to make and it tastes amazing. I love love love it. Couple of days ago I made one for my Mom's birthday and she loved it and now there's just a small piece of it.
There is a recipe I used here.

This is also a 200th post in my blog and I'm doing a little dance now because that's an achievement to me!
