MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #31

Let's be completely and really honest here for a minute. I've realized one little and quite sad truth - I haven't been enjoying blogging so much lately as I've used to. It's sad to admit that to myself but it's probably for the best, now I can figure something out about it. I guess I just got lost in this whole blogging world and I've read too many advice posts how to blog better and the joy disappeared a tiny little bit. I'm pretty sure that the fact that I've been insanely busy lately has a lot to do with it as well. I didn't want to stop blogging for this crazy period and then I pressure myself into thinking that I'm not doing good enough, because you know, I haven't posted in 5 days and I don't even know how to make a post a good one anymore and let me tell you, this is not fun. But seriously, how do people manage to blog when they have a job or are raising kids? I was volunteering, had my classes and other uni stuff and blogging hardly fit in my agenda. Is that me not knowing how to organize my time, or is it actually pretty challenging? I actually have a lot of ideas and I'm sure I will fall back in love with blogging because now that I've realized I was pressuring myself a little bit too hard, I can stop doing that. I think that the way I feel about my blog shows and that doesn't make me happy at all. How do you deal with situations like these?
So now talking about the happier things, the Easter this year was a pretty good one. For the first time in years, there were so many of us at the Easter table and it was such an amazing feeling. Most of my family live abroad and we don't get to see each other a lot, so having my Godfather and his family with us was amazing. My little cousins are the most adorable kids and when they come up to me and hug me, I melt into one big pond. Of course, where is family, there is some drama involved, at least that's how it always is with our family. But despite everything, it actually was a very good holiday. Now it's been super strange trying to get back into the real world after the festival where I need to study and go to classes and it's been tough, not gonna lie. BUT it was sunny for two days straight and the sky was bright blue the whole time, so it's pretty awesome. Tell me, which day of the week was the best one and why?

» I've spent Easter in nature, in a very nice place with a forest around the house and it's been pretty amazing to hang out there.
» There were also deers! It was actually the first time I have ever seen one, so I spent a lot of time following around with a camera and staring at them.
» A coffee with a view.
» Stationery addicts unite! I bought these giant paperclips from Tiger and I love them!

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #30

What a week it was! It's a little hard to believe that so many things can happen in one week, in seven days. You know, sometimes absolutely nothing happens in a week and I'm sitting at my laptop and struggle to think about a single thing I could write about and now it's the complete opposite - I'm struggling to fit all of my thoughts into one little post.
First of all I have to say that I'm beyond happy because this has seriously been the best week of this year so far. Here on the blog my week starts and finishes on Friday, so let's begin there. Last Friday my Godfather who lives far away in the USA and his wife and 3 adorable children came back to Lithuania. It was a little hard to contain myself standing there in that airport and thinking that in the couple of minutes I will get to see the faces of people I haven't seen for 8 years. Two of these children were born at that time, so even see the people of people I haven't ever seen. I love these people with my whole heart so even that would be enough for an amazing week, but wait, there's more.
I've mentioned a few times here that I was volunteering in a Vilnius Film Festival and it's sadly already over and I'm still trying to fit all of my memories into their places. In this festival I was working in a department with the international guests, so I got to meet so many amazing people from so many countries in the world and my job was to make sure that all of these people would have the best experience possible. I've had to visit the airport for many times, find lost people in the hotels, run around my city in the pouring rain, make hundreds of calls. There were many things that could go wrong, and, of course, they did because you know, the one day that more than 80 people are arriving, all of the flights have to be either cancelled or delayed. So the stress was the best friend and even though I usually don't handle it really well, I was probably enjoying everything too much to remember to be stressed out. To me, this whole experience was such a big step out of my comfort zone but it was very very rewarding. All of my days blurred into one big beautiful mess.

» The closing ceremony of the festival.
» Since it was either raining or snowing (yup, that's the Spring in Lithuania), only the flowers remind me that it's actually April and not the middle of Autumn.
» My beautiful city. I was waiting to pick up the guest from the hotel and I was admiring my city.
» When I'm saying that I got to meet a lot of amazing and inspiring people, I mean it. Just look at this picture - there am I smiling from ear to ear and Michel Hazanavicius. The one and only, the director of The Artist. I even got to speak with him a little bit (in French!) and he was also a very very nice person.

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #29

Happy Friday, beautiful people!
Last Thursday I've started volunteering at the Vilnius Film Festival which is an amazing thing happening every Spring here for 20 years already and this is the reason why I kept smiling throughout the week and also why my days all blurred into one beautiful mess. It's because I've met so many new interesting people and I've realized once again how amazing volunteering truly is. Of course, it put me once again out of my comfort zone for so many reasons and I'm sure it will do this on the second week of it but it also brings so much happiness into my life that it's impossible to describe. Seriously, if there is an event in your city or country that you like a lot and there is a possibility to volunteer there, go.for.it!
There is one amazing perk of volunteering there which is getting to see quite a few (ahem, a lot) of movies. And this is amazing, to say the least. I could live in a movie theatre, I could become this person who forgets that it actually is sometimes bright outside and the sun is shining and watch movies one after another. There are a few things better than sitting down in a chair at the cinema and see the lights go down and the screen light up.

» My beautiful University. If the classes don't always make me happy, the buildings always put a smile on my face. It's a gorgeous place!

» There was one meeting I went to this week which is a gorgeous office in the city center. So when I had the chance to go up there to the terrace and watch my city from there, I took it immediately. With a coffee in hand, of course, because it makes the experience even better. And yes, it's a Christmas mug because why not?

» How beautiful are these flowers? Luna was also very interested in them!

» This is the place I was spending the bigger part of my week. The cinema is buzzing with people (not like in the picture) all the time this past week and it's amazing!

How was your week? And what are you planning for the weekend?

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #28

Another week is gone and it was a veeery long one, I have to say! But it's finally weekend, so it's all good!
It was filled with more doctors appointments than I would have loved to, but I'm glad it's at least over for a while. On top of that, I also had very many errands to run and had quite a few meetings (I've started volunteering in a very exciting movie festival), so I was a real life busy bee!
Now I just took about a hundred pictures of the solar eclipse which was pretty much the most exciting week this week (even though people are acting pretty crazy these past few days!) and I am waiting for my red velvet cake to bake. It's my Mum's birthday, so it's definitely a red velvet cake kind of day.

1. Over the weekend, I took a long walk around the city and it was finally sunny and warm enough to be walking around with a coffee in hand. And it was green outside and no signs of snow!
2. The beautiful solar eclipse.
3. Oh, I also had my hair cut quite a bit. I'm still getting used to having my hair this short, I have never had them so short in my life, but I like it!
4. The city with castles in the middle of it is a good city to live in. This is what I see every day when I'm going to Uni.

Hope you're going to have a good weekend! Did you see the eclipse? How was it?

VILNIUS DOUGHNUTS FIREWORKS CELEBRATION INDEPENDENCY

Hello, beautiful people! It's mid March already and OMG how did this happen? I know we always say it, but time really flies by insanely quickly. I just had a though this week - this is the second semester of the second year in uni and it's pretty scary when you think about that. Winter is truly gone now and sometimes when I'm sitting in a class, sun starts smiling outside and I start smiling with her.
This week I started waking up from my biggest bear winter sleep and actually went out which was amazing. Seeing my best friends and meeting some new amazing people are always the thing that make me the happiest person. Also, we had a very beautiful celebration this week - Lithuania celebrated 25th birthday of its independence and it was a very beautiful and proud day for all of us living here.
In between my studying sessions, I watched Pretty Little Liars like a crazy person because I'm determined to get through all of the season again until the big A reveal in two weeks. I'm on the season 3, so I have no idea how I'm planning to do this, but here's hoping!

1, 4. My city celebrating the 25 years of freedom.
2. My favorite red lipstick which is perfect for Spring.
3. Doughnuts, coffee and the best friend on a sunny Sunday is the best thing you could imagine.

Song of the week  Sam Smith - Restart

What have you been up to these past few days? Tell me in the comments!

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #26

I have to remember to count my blessings. I believe that only when we appreciate what we do have, instead of what we don't, life becomes much brighter. And after quite a challenging time ( Februaries seem to be quite a difficult months to me these past years), I finally am feeling better and I appreciate it loads!
This past weekend was a beautiful little one, exactly what I've needed to feel better. I've spent the time with some of my favorite girls, laughed until my face started hurting, had some cocktails, went to see Fifty Shades Of Grey ( that's how single gals celebrate Valentine's day these days) and just relaxed a lot. Oh, I just have to mention it again, I got to see Ed Sheeran and goodness, that was awesome and amazing and the best thing ever, and I'm still playing his songs all the time and I really just fell in love with this guy once again. And this week even sun started showing more and more and snow is melting away and it's definitely a sign Spring is coming! I'm going to ignore that some kind of cold is starting to attack me and just shake it off because it's the weekend and being ill is definitely not in my plans.

I love seeing how my gratitude jar is filling up more and more, it's such a nice feeling!
When sun starts shining again after the Winter, my city becomes one incredibly beautiful place once again.

Yup, another one picture of Ed Sheeran from the show. I was so so amazing and if you love this beautiful redheaded guy, you should definitely go see him play live!

This is how I miss the sunshine, it seems completely normal to look up to the blue sky and take pictures of it. Even though trees are completely naked, blue skies make everything better.
I love when I get the chance to hang out with this big beautiful boy living in my Friend's home. He is a very good-looking cat, I shall say!

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #25

things that make me happy

This has been quite a challenging week to me, if I'm honest. My anxiety has been really high, my body started aching, I've had the strangest dreams looking like thriller movies and I was just feeling very blue and I still haven't managed to find a reason why this is happening and it's incredibly frustrating. Maybe it's the full moon, maybe getting back to Uni after the holidays or maybe just thoughts getting a little bit too loud inside my head. Anyway, this week it was a little more important to find these little things that could help cheer me up a bit.

I've had a dance class, met up with a friend to eat donuts and watch one of my all time favorite movies Amelie, played with my cat and felt so at peace when she was purring on my lap (it's a shame she doesn't stay still in the same position), finally went to cinema to see The Theory Of Everything, tried to stay away from my laptop and phone a little bit more, did some yoga and it helped me feel a little bit better.
Hope everyone is having a great week! What are your plans for the weekend?

tissue paper tassel garland

I hanged my little DIY tassel garland  that I made last Spring up and I really like how it looks on my wall now.
american doughnuts

So this happened when my bestie came to my home to watch a movie. It seems like whenever we meet, we eat donuts. But it's impossible to stop when they are THAT good!

This is one incredibly exciting thing I've got today. Last December I won a little giveaway that lovely Lauren had on her blog and today I picked that parcel from the post and I wasn't really expecting to find so many great little bits inside. This has definitely brightened my day up loads!

This is the book I won on that giveaway and I know that Christmas is not on everyone's mind and that's a good thing, because Spring is coming after all, but I'm very excited I got this, because it has some amazing recipes for Christmas and I will definitely be using it once December comes.

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #24

This was a very unexpectedly long week. Even though I have finally passed all of my exams this semester and I'm free to enjoy my holidays, time didn't rush at all. I'm a little exhausted, to be honest, so I spent these past days just laying in my bed, catching up on Gilmore Girls, Pretty Little Liars, Harry Potter, doing some yoga, writing some blog posts while calmly sitting in a cozy coffee shops, celebrating my Dad's birthday and being a little less productive than on the previous weeks. But it feel GOOD to be able to relax a little after these crazy weeks of studying and I've missed these times when the most important choice I had to make that day is what episode to watch next, or maybe watch a movie or read a book? Decisions, you know?
Anyway, this Sunday I have a little trip planned, so it's very exciting and my days are going to be filled with a little bit more action after these long and relaxed days. Also, the winter has definitely came back over here, so I'm really looking forward to escaping this coldness for a little bit.

How was your week? A relaxing one or a busy one?

I've made a little Tiramisu cake for my Dad which turned out really well and we had a really nice evening while eating it with a glass of wine.

I think Luna should be a cat model, she is getting prettier day after day!

I recently finally updated to a new phone, it feels so good to be able to use a phone which finally works, my old one has finally gave up after many months of not properly working.

I'm halfway through the sixth Harry Potter book and I'm already getting sad I'm nearly done with the rereading of the series. I still have three movies to watch again, so it's a little better.

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #23

The second full week of the new year was spent studying for a little too much, because my body said it was enough one day, passing two exams (only one to go!), eating donuts on a great sleepover after a long studying session and after my exam - I can't help myself, they are just too good!, buying crystal-y looking necklaces, writing my 300th post on the blog, writing in my journals a lot, sometimes cooking a very decent looking lunch for myself, going to sleep at crazy hours in the morning and drinking loads and loads of coffee. Oh and I've started the second season of Gilmore Girls, so there were a couple of (a lot of them) episodes thrown in that madness of studying. Thank goodness, it wasn't that cold outside, not that I got to be outside a lot but when I did, it was nice not to run to the nearest building and we even got to see sun couple of times! Where I live it is a big deal to see the sun in the middle of January!

What was your one favorite thing from this week which made you smile like a crazy person?

My new amazing necklaces from H&M

Luna loves sniffing flowers

This donut place is seriously amazing, I loved that brown donut - it's with caramel and salt, oh my!

Writing in a journal with a big cup of coffee is so relaxing.

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #22

This little feature on my blog which I've started already a while ago is very neglected and I feel very bad about it. I can't fully comprehend that one full week of the new year has passed and I'm once again in the glorious (not so much) period of the exams. So this week was fully spent in the library from the day through night, thank God this place is so beautiful, it really helps with studying for 12 hours every day. Dedication much, if I do say so myself. I have this little period of madness up until the 19th of January, so I better prepare myself emotionally and physically. This was also very snowy week and one day me and my best friend took a very cold walk in the park just to take pictures of the beautiful nature. We got cold, but who cares, it was really worth it! I am not the fan of winter and probably won't ever be, but this beautiful snow that we've had lately has been really helping with the waiting for the Spring. Yup, I'm already waiting for the Spring to come, I said I'm not the fan of the winter and Spring has always been my favorite season.
I'm very happy to continue this feature on my blog and from this year I'm changing it a little bit and will be posting this list of gratitude on Fridays, so that my weekends would be left free, because let's be honest, weekends are mostly spent just chilling and not doing anything too important.

This is that amazing library from the future where I've been spending all my time at.

Our Winter looks gorgeous lately. It's freezing as well and it's not so fun to be outside but the nature really looks like from the wonderland.

I've started my new gratitude jar for 2015 and I'm very glad to see it slowly filling up with little papers. I had a very nice time reading all of these little papers with my memories written all over them at the end of 2014 and I decided to continue this little project of gratitude for this new year as well.

I have a new ritual in my life - every day before I go to bed I write in these notebooks and they are all for a different thing - questions and answers, gratitude journal or just for a simple journal session if I feel like it. Yes, I know I'm probably seem a little bit crazy but I've always had a thing for notebooks and I love putting my thoughts down on paper before I go to sleep.

I realized I probably never showed my beloved bed here! It's huge, it's very comfy and cozy and I love it! Sometimes it's really tempting to spend my whole day just sitting up there really cozy while it's so cold outside.

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #21

Happy Monday everyone! Here's another round of the things which made me very grateful.

This Saturday I got a new haircut and it's been a while since I've been to a hair salon and now I have my hair way shorter than I've ever had in my life, but it feels so good to have them this short, I love it!

My beautiful Luna which is even more beautiful than ever before (I keep on saying this every time I mention her). Nowadays when I oversleep (which happens quite a lot), she is always there to wake me up and I love it!
I did a little reorganizing of my shelves and I am very happy how it turned out.
This picture might be a little confusing but this actually is a skirt. With galaxies printed on it? Oh yes! I've been searching for this kind of beauty for a while because I love galaxies A LOT and I'm very glad I finally found one.
I realize I haven't mentioned a very exciting thing - I got a new bed and now I can sleep like a queen in a big white bed. I've added these fairy lights to make my room even cozier.

MY ENDLESS LIST OF GRATITUDE #20

When I was in Slovenia many years ago, I bought these amazing crystals there but for some reason they were hidden in the farthest corner of the closet for several years and I couldn't find them until yesterday. I'm so happy I have them back because I've been a big lover of crystals of every kind my whole life because not only they are amazingly beautiful, they have some great powers too.

I have a big thing for candles, so visiting Ikea always means buying candles and yesterday was very successful because I found so many nice ones there! The one which smells like gingerbread cookies is absolutely amazing.

Along with crystals that I've found, in the same closet I've also found the necklace which my Mom used to wear a long time ago and it is also looking like a crystal, although I'm not sure if it really is one, but no matter that I love it so much and I will definitely wear it a lot.

Lately I've been enjoying my Q& A journal a lot. Over the summer, I didn't write in it that much but now I'm back to enjoying it every single day. It's such a nice thing to have and especially for someone who is a complete notebook junkie as I am.

I love baking cupcakes, I also love red velvet, so I decided this would make a perfect birthday present for a friend. The best part is that she really liked them a lot!
